VINEGAR PIE

Ingredients

1/4 cup flour

1 cup white sugar

1 cup water

3 egg yolks

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1/4 teaspoon lemon extract

3 tablespoons vinegar

Method

  1. Grab a mixing bowl, sieve the flour into the bowl and add the sugar.

  2. For this step you'll need a double-boiler, but of course we didn't have one. So we put the mixing bowl on top of a pan of boiling water and stirred in a cup of water.

  3. Next, crack the eggs and plop them into the bowl.  Afterwards, whisk them together (like we should have done...)

  4. We then beat the egg yolks in the bowl and mixed it together. Finally, we add three tablespoons of white vinegar to the mixture (not malt vinegar like we did!)

  5. Meanwhile, grab a pan and line the pastry with it. Make sure to not have any holes in the pastry! Bake until a light golden brown.

  6. Add the mixture to the pastry shell. Then place the pie in the oven and cook at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 15 minutes until a nice nut brown.

  7. Order's Up! Serve with whipped cream and enjoy.
